Embroidery in good condition, fringes are straggly

approx 60cm in diameter excluding fringes

This Matyo embroidery comes from a small area in Hungary centred around the town Mezokovesd, famous for its folk craft  and in particular embroidery. Traditionally embroidered in silk on a black base. Matyo embroidery is on the UNESCO List of  Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
