About Antique Linen Grain and flour Sacks

Vintage grain sacks come in a variety of weaves and stripe colours.  This one  was woven in  a small village in Transylvania, Romania

These sacks have been  hand woven, mostly from home spun vintage linen hemp. Hemp  softens and lightens with age and washing. These sacks date from the early 1900s to about 1940.  The cloth is fantastic and  the sacks are full of character.

This fabric was painstakingly home loomed and has a lovely home woven quality.

Laundered and in excellent condition
