Vintage linen mattress covers. Closely woven pale linen with  blue stripes. and  small GI monogram.

These are two panels sewn toghether with a seam at one end. Opened out you can have double the length or double the width. Originally these were maed to be filled with straw to be used as a bed. These are in very good condition except for 1 hole on each as follows

Mattress cover 1;  small hole on blue stripe 80cm from end seam and 12cm from edge

Mattress cover 2; 70-73cm from seamed end and 8-11 cm from edge

Lovely home loomed vintage linen, Two panels hand sewn together. If opened out this would make a great table cloth or upholstery material.

All our vintage fabrics  are hand loomed, mostly from hemp or linen. They range in age, nearly all will be pre 1950s and many of them much older, most  at least 70 years old.

The hand looming of fabric was a very labour intensive process and each roll took many hours to make. Home loomed fabric has a wonderful texture. 

When you  buy this fabric you really are buying a piece of history. Most of this fabric has been stored in rolls for many many years and inevitably have storage marks. We wash all fabric lengths before despatching.
